Steinhafels is hiring for a furniture finisher to repair upholstered furniture to ensure our customers receive high-quality products.

Responsibilities

Furniture Upholstery:

  • Strip old fabric and materials from furniture frames.
  • Measure, cut, and attach new fabric, padding, and other materials using appropriate tools (staple guns, glue, sewing machines, etc.).
  • Repair or replace springs, webbing, and structural parts of furniture.
  • Clean finished upholstered furniture using appropriate methods (vacuuming, spot-cleaning, fabric-safe cleaners).
  • Treat and protect upholstery fabrics with stain guards or protective coatings as required.
  • Inspect furniture for stains, dirt, or damage prior to shipping or showroom placement and clean as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of upholstery tools, machines, and work areas to prevent fabric contamination.

Quality Control:

  • Inspect finished products for defects and ensure all items meet quality standards.
  • Make necessary adjustments or repairs before products are shipped or moved to showroom or out for delivery.

Collaboration & Safety:

  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Follow all safety procedures and report any unsafe conditions or incidents.

 

Qualifications

Physical Demands:

Regular lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving of furniture up to 100#’s. Regular walking, bending, twisting, climbing, carrying, pushing, pulling, crouching, and kneeling when inspecting and repairing furniture.

Position Requirements:

Requires punctuality and regular attendance and must be able to work one weekend day per week.
